Hey, Tortoise owners I have a quick question on if I'm feeding my redfooted tortoise enough every time I put fresh food into her little plate she goes and finishes all the food in usually one sitting and I'm just curious if that's enough for it. Should I just put enough food in that she leaves it unfinished? Is there such a thing as Overfeeding a Tortoise? Please let me know!

Hello!
Give her as much food as she wants. Every day and leave the food through the day. In the evening remove the food dish (there should be only few pieces left). In the wild, they walk miles foraging for food and take a bite here and there.

You might overfeed tortoise and there is "tortoise obesity", when they can't retract their head in the shell. But it's a combination of two factors:
1. Lack of walking and exercising (usually too small enclosure).
2. Seriously wrong diet (lack of fiber, excessive protein - like 100% fruit or Mazuri pellets).
Both problems should be addressed first hand, not the food amounts.
