Acradia T8 Desert Tube

Hi

Got an Acradia 15W, T8 Desert Species tube, Not using any reflection. Would like to seek advise how high should the T8 be mounted from the substrate for it to be effective? Specs as below:

Watt: 15W, Length: 18″/450mm, Diameter: T8-26mm, Lumens: 300lm, Temp: 6600K, UVB: 12%, UVA: 30%

I don't know about not using a reflector. I use them and they provide wonderful, bright light in the tort table.

Did your tube come in a box? Usually it says on the box how high it should be placed above the substrate.

Thanks. Nothing much on the box but this was given on the website.... Will give the reflector a go

Acadia replied the T8 with reflector should be 12inches from the top of the tortoise top shell. Any take on this please?

12" seems just about the normal height for all the bulbs.

12" is ideal height for T8 12%. Tortoise should spend good amount of time under it. How big is the habitat?

It's around 3x2 feet.
