So I just recently moved my tortoise to a bigger enclosure. He use to be in a tank on a shelf and he would constantly scratch at the sides. One day my boyfriend took one of my paintings and stuck it behind the glass and he stopped. We tried this with all kinds of different paintings but he would scratch until we put this particular one up and any time if fell down he'd start scratching. When I moved him to his new home he ran around for hours trying to get out scratching at the sides trying to climb the walls. So I put the painting up on the wall and he stopped.

Does this make any sense?

nope it's just some crappy abstract art :) . With colors like blue and some clouds and stars and a sun and a human head.

Interesting. Well, maybe that's similar enough to a landscape to soothe him.
