Thanks Wellington. Yeah I live in Florida and I have been using a black light in my temporary enclosure and it rarely falls below 80. I will start w/ the one Che and see what happens. I really appreciate your advice. thanks!!
I have finished the build of my new 5' x 2' indoor enclosure. I could use some advice on my light / heat setup. Per Tom's advice: I have 2 11" HD ceramic domes- 1 for my 100 watt CHE and one for my 65 watt flood. I will also be using a tube light for UV.

Cool...Thanks!! One last question...do you use any sort of sealer on the inside of your enclosures? I was going to use birch plywood and just a shower curtain for the base, but not sure if i should be concerned about mold or mildew on the walls... seems like the forum is kinda undecided on...

Hello...I am preparing to build my first enclosure. I want to make it 2' high, but started to wonder if this would be enough after adding substrate? W/ 4-6" of substrate, would the remaining 18-20" be enough distance to appropriately hang the lights from above. Does anyone have a boxed...

1) I noticed my basking rock directly under the light is only 88 degrees, but the orchid bark around the rock is 101. Not sure what...
Hi Lyn...Thanks for your advice. I was actually at Lowes yesterday and almost bought a few plants until I saw the white moisture balls in the soil. I realized they were probably full of fertilizer so I got some seeds instead to try to grow my own. I appreciate the link and your help

Thanks Tom. Once I add the the uvb, would it make any sense to add a CHE to replace my current dual light which has the basking bulb and moonlite bulb? can the CHE provide direct heat on my basking rock like the basking bulb? should I consider the powersun mercury bulb set up instead...
