advice w/ heat / light placement

I have finished the build of my new 5' x 2' indoor enclosure. I could use some advice on my light / heat setup. Per Tom's advice: I have 2 11" HD ceramic domes- 1 for my 100 watt CHE and one for my 65 watt flood. I will also be using a tube light for UV. As for placement, I was thinking...

    enclosure height for baby sully

Cool...Thanks!! One last question...do you use any sort of sealer on the inside of your enclosures? I was going to use birch plywood and just a shower curtain for the base, but not sure if i should be concerned about mold or mildew on the walls... seems like the forum is kinda undecided on...

    enclosure height for baby sully

Thanks Tom!! I picked up the 65 watt bulbs per your advice / reply to one of my other threads. Although I stood in front of the bulb section at Lowes for 10 mins trying to figure out which ones to get, i rolled the dice and went w/ the BR30"s. are these the right ones? Also, I couldn't find...

    enclosure height for baby sully

Hello...I am preparing to build my first enclosure. I want to make it 2' high, but started to wonder if this would be enough after adding substrate? W/ 4-6" of substrate, would the remaining 18-20" be enough distance to appropriately hang the lights from above. Does anyone have a boxed...

basking rock / temps / humidity??

I am a newbie w/ a baby sully...still learning and setting up my enclosure. I bought a temp gun per everyones advice and discovered a lot about my enclosure. 1) I noticed my basking rock directly under the light is only 88 degrees, but the orchid bark around the rock is 101. Not sure what...

    Hello & Thank you

Hi Lyn...Thanks for your advice. I was actually at Lowes yesterday and almost bought a few plants until I saw the white moisture balls in the soil. I realized they were probably full of fertilizer so I got some seeds instead to try to grow my own. I appreciate the link and your help

    reptisun uvb vs. Florida sun

Thanks Tom. Once I add the the uvb, would it make any sense to add a CHE to replace my current dual light which has the basking bulb and moonlite bulb? can the CHE provide direct heat on my basking rock like the basking bulb? should I consider the powersun mercury bulb set up instead...
