the only problem with leopard tortoise is that i have read that they can be prone to disease compared to other torts, is this true?

I live in Houston Texas and am planing on getting a tortoise. We have mid to high humidity where we live, the temp. ranges from mid 30's up to about 100 Fahrenheit. I am looking for a mid to large sized tortoise, no small ones at least 15 inches. some of the species i have looked at are yellow...

I have what i think to be a gulf coast box turtle and i would like to know his age, but I don't know how to tell. his shell length is about 5 inches and a width of about 3 1/4 inches

Hello, I need help identifying what type of box turtle my turtle is. If anyone thinks they know please reply. We found him in the Houston Tx area in a pool filter about to drown but we don't know if is native to the area or if he was a lost pet.
