Hiya,
Did you get him/her sexed by Danny yet? he helped me loads and guessed mine as 2 male and 3 female- only time will tell tho!!! going from the wisdom Danny shared, I would say male looking at the anal scutes. He is very different to all mine tho as his opening is very flat but all of...
Hi,
I don't soak mine at all really (unlike my horsefields who I do once a week).
The breeder I got my Radiata from doesn't soak them, they live in a greenhouse with a 100watt lamp and he showers them each night in their enclosure, which then provides the humidity for the next day. He also...
Hiya Dan!!!
Thanks for your quick reply- really tho gaining a third of his body weight in 8 weeks is OK, he a complete pig with food, very agressive with his chomps, like the world will end if he stops to take a breath!
Hi All,
I know this will be totally irrelevant but just for your info really, we can go to the Hamm reptile show and can get Radiata for around 700 euros for hatchlings. But in the UK the only hatchlings on sale are a whopping 1,900 GB£ each. So your prices seem OK to me!!!
TOTALLY...
Hi All,
As you know I added some lovely new Radiata to my collection a few months ago and I thought I would post because I have just weighed them for the first time since the day they arrived (no idea why I left it so long, I weigh my horsefields every week)!!!
Here is their weight gain-...
(Hi All, I just hatched my very first Horsefield baby so I asked him to write you a little story Lol)
My story begins when my Human mummy Dae rehomed my tortie mum and dad Gladys and Humphrey along with their friend Gertrude over a year ago. They were in a bad way and little Gertrude was...
Ha ha sorry Dan!!!!
I didn't raise him since 04 although I would love to take the credit. I only picked him up last week. He was grown very well by someone very knowledgable, he was fed on weeds, grasses etc (no fruit), the breeder barely feeds them for 3 months of each year so dosn't grow...
Hi All,
I hope I am posting in the right place this time as my last post was moved, just wanted to introduce Humperdink, He is cb04 and is just over 15cms and 750g.
He's super confident and friendly and I totally love him!!!
His colours look different under his UV lamps and in natural...
Hiya, how about scutes that are supposed to be there but are slightly irregular in themselves, e.g. one of the radiated I am going to buy has one scute on her side that is slightly smaller than the other side, but all her siblings were fine. I am still going to buy her tho because she is still...
Hi,
Incase it helps, My radiata have been grown slowly and they are the following sizes-
cb04 is 15cm
cb06 is 11cm
cb07 is 10cm
and my smaller ones are around 6cm and are 08/09.
So this gives a bit of an insight into the growth rate of these ones but obviously husbandry like diet...
Hiya, just from Europe as I live in the UK so we can either travel over to collect or we can have them brought by the breeders to the Hamm reptile expo.
There are lots of breeders in Europe and they are about half the price we would pay from a dealer here in the UK. The breeder I am using...
Hi,
Yes as Dan said I use both. I use the common name when speaking to my friends etc and I call them Radiata to my breeder as that is what he calls them. So both are correct.
I just always feel a bit wierd saying Radiata to my friends, when I told my husband that I was going to get some...
I think I prefer the thicker ones too but I have bought a mixture of torts from different blood lines and so I have some thin ones too so I'll be able to have a nice mixture when and if they ever breed when I'm like 60!!!!!
Ha ha you must be Norman then!!! I think I'm fast becomming a radiata freak also and I don't even have them yet! They are just so special. Is it 2 yearlings you have?
