I recently moved my Russians habitat to a different location in my home. This happened maybe a month or two ago. Since the move, his shell seems to be getting darker. How does this happen? And is it a bad thing? Thanks in advance!
I use coconut fiber. And It's literally new out of packaging. Before replacing the flooring i remove the old fiber by vacuuming then I rinse the terrarium. Therefore there is no food residue or fecal matter. I don't know how this stuff got there. I took a picture before removing it.

I think there is mold growing in my habitat! Looks like a blue film is forming on his new flooring. I just replaced the coconut fiber in my torts home, I buy the stuff in bricks and you let it soak so it expands. I've never seen mold in there before. How, why, and will this harm my tort? I...
My friend just gave me an alligator snapping turtle. It is very small about an inch or so large. I was wondering if for the time being I can house him with my eastern musk. It would be only temporary! Until I can build the other critter his own habitat. Will they harm each other? I need to know...
I would've cried too! I used to have a russian that was very affectionate. My newer one knows who I am, but isn't as attached as my last. I'm hoping that changes. Good luck! Hope your baby takes more feet naps with you! :)
I have a russian tortoise and I am thinking of buying a sulcata. I am aware they cannot be housed in the same habitat because Russians are somewhat loners. Just wondering if they will play nice during outdoors hours? Does anyone have this family mixture?
