    3 species habitat image

This is so fascinating. Info like this is so hard to come by. Have you ever seen any behavior that was associated with time of day or temps/humidity (ie: soaking, basking, foraging, etc). Any real change in behavior with seasonal changes?

    Tortoise worm

I try to do fecals 3x yearly and whenever they are acting "off" I run tests before I bring them in for the winter to make sure they are not brining in any hitchhikers, 1-2 weeks after coming in (sometimes the stress will stir something up) and 1-2 after I place them outside for warm weather. Enjoying some pumpkin

They can. If you can put everything in a food processor it is more beneficial since the seeds have deworming properties. More often than not, the tortoises will bypass the beneficial seeds and just eat the mushy stuff

Humidity getting to low(in Florida, what?!)!

I really like Crane humidifiers, they are about $35, but you don't have to worry about the fan burning out on this brand. Also, adding plants, moss, leaves and multiple hides will help tremendously as long as the temp stays up

    Radiated @ Indianapolis Zoo

At the park that I work at we will have parents come up to one of our Sulcatas walking around and will hell at their kids to "Be careful, that is an alligator snapping turtle!! It will snap your finger right off" or "knock on its shell for him to come out". . . What????

    New indoor habitat for Hermanns

That is a wonderful idea to add insects. I unintentionally did that with the elongateds and hingebacks, and the plants seem to flourish without having to replace them. Great job :D

    Hurricane Sandy

I love in a place that sometimes loses power. I pack all my little ones like I would if I would ship them. Keeping them in a smaller area keeps the heat in better. If it is going to be awhile, I make sure to keep some moss in there to keep the humidity up. Try not to open it too much as the heat...
