    Sulcata with sinus problems

Sulcata can be vocal, they sound like they are coughing up plhem. Wheezing is normally only done if there is a respitory infection. Find another vet....get the phone book out and call everyone you see. When I got my baby, he was making the noises, like you I just didn't feel right about the vet...

Do you think this sulcata is a male or female?

Best way to tell with a smaller sulcata is to put it's butt in warm water....males will let you know. That does look like a girl though, MOST males...even the smaller ones get a dent on the second scute above the tail.

    Carlise Tortoises Advert?

Might I suggest Turtlesale as one you remove? They knowingly sold someone TWO turtles which were septic and had shell rot. They also sell freezer babies, little turtles kept in the fridge to stunt their growth until they can be sold. I used to be over there and the horror stories they have are...

I would mix the fruit and veggies with greens in a blender and feed only that until she starts eating it. They can wait it out until you give in and be fine, for weeks or a month. Be strong and offer the food you know she needs. Think of this like a child fed nothing but candy for months or...

The person got two of those cat carry cases, the plastic ones, put towels in there and then put those into boxes. We also did an iguana the same way. Shipped over night for both sulcata it...

    Turtle Identification

Snappers only come in alligator, common and Florida ones. There are no diamond back snappers. Stores can be wrong. All snappers are dull black and gray color. This one from the size, shape of the shell and the head what I can see is a mud or musk, I am saying striped mud from the location you...

sulcata owners: how much land do you live on?

We have 2 acres and that was part of my reason for letting 2 of the sulcata I had go to a friend. While the four were small and I had the room now, in the future there was no way I would have the space for them all to be happy, and the fact that 3 were boys and 1 was female I was already having...

at what age did your sulcata move outside?

Mine go out only for the summer still. Once the weather stays above 60, even at night they are outside. During the winter here in Florida some days are warm enough to put them out but the nights are cold so we sit and move turtles/tortoises in and out daily! lOL

    Turtle Section?

I agree, I have several kinds and it would take me all day to go to each forum...maybe one for tortoises, water turtles, and land turtles. That way things are split a little but not too much. ANything concerning tortoises no matter the kind would all be in one area etc.

    Turtle Identification

Striped Mud. They are native to Florida and have the shape and size and the keels- the three raised areas on the shell like that. That one does look like a mix of something though, too many stripes on it. Keep doing whatever you have been because it seems to be working for the last 17 years...

    Pictures of Turtles and Tortoises

Worms are fine as a varied diet, but you can go with more greens, fruit and veggie once every other day. These guys are like box turtles with the diet, but they can and will swim in deep water.

    Sulcata

Cat food also has something in it that kills the tortoises livers. As well as any other reptile. I will look for the article. If the vet says it's fine you may want to check into another vet. No damage seen now but in a few years they die, or get sick because their liver can't function the way...

    Can you Identify this Tortiose?

It's color is too brown to be anything other then a sulcata. I am 100 percent positive on it. And the feeding once every other week fits too if it was outside or inside on a substrate like hay or grass it can eat. The pyramiding isn't too bad, make sure it gets uv lights and the right diet...
