It makes me sad to do this, but I have a three-toed box turtle up for adoption.
I originally got her from a home that would forget to feed her for weeks, and she had no pool of water to swim around in. With me she eats regularly and has fresh water to swim in. I just wanted to keep her alive...
Right now she's in a 40gal tank with soil and I planted some flowers! She loves to stomp them down though :(
Right now I don't have a cage top for her, but I put the coil bulb on it around the middle (it straddles the viv so it won't fall).
Her viv is right next to a window too, but I gave her...
I have an indoor enclosure for my three toed box turtle, and I was just wondering if the coil UVB bulb is bad for them.
i know they're not recommended for bearded dragons and uromastyx, but I'm not sure for turtles (if their eyes are as sensitive or whatnot)

well, I don't know how old my turtle is, but she's not a baby, not that anyone would know on here. I tried figuring out her age, but she has such a smooth bottom shell I couldn't see any lines.

So it would be better to have a pool in her habitat. What should the depth be? I was just given her less than a week ago, so I'm experimenting. She can float and swim, but would it be better for her to be able to touch...
is it ok that I just bathe my turtle one to two times a day, or is it better to have the 'pool' in the enclosure?
