Adult Sulcata urates becoming chalky but frequent urine?

What water temp? 85-90? Does it matter if it’s before or after she eats?

Adult Sulcata urates becoming chalky but frequent urine?

Thanks for the suggestions to get her more hydrated. Any thoughts on helping her retain water? Maybe space out feedings so she doesn’t take in as much at once? Less heat? More environmental moisture? She’s still indoors at the moment. Waiting for the weather to warm.

Adult Sulcata urates becoming chalky but frequent urine?

Our recently adopted Sulcata, Kora, we think is about 20 years old. They were previously feeding her about every 3 days - she eats greens and no grass. When she came to us we fed her daily as much as she would eat following the basic idea of escarole and endive being the base with added other...

    Tortoise parrot question

I hate acronyms sometimes and catch myself using them for convenience when it’s really inconvenient for others. Sorry! Pineapple Green Cheek Conure Thanks for your reply! Appreciate it. Sounds like a great flock!

    Tortoise parrot question

He’s beautiful! What other types of parrots do you have? We’re looking at ways to give Kora (our recently rescued Sulcata) maximum space in winter and are thinking of combining our bird and tortoise space. You mentioned the main concern being fecal contamination. We typically let our smaller...

Great to meet Mary Knobbins. Thanks for sharing! @Maggie3fan What do think the coldest temp in full sun and no wind would be ok to bring Kora outside for a bit?

Don’t want to co-opt the tortoise forum but here are a few select pics - 12 birds total, all rehomed/rescued: Mango (front) and Sammy (rear) are our Moluccan Cockatoos. Mango we think is 24 this year and Sammy we’re not sure but we think over 50. Mango’s been with us since 2003 and Sammy 2006The...

We’ve been using the Mazuri LS. She went through heaps of greens this week, much of what is on your list, as well as some Kapidolo Farms stuff that arrived yesterday. If I were to buy a large bag of Mazuri would you go for the regular or LS?

Looks like SH makes 100 and 150. The 150 might be too big at 40”. Thoughts on those bs 120 VE? Thank you!

Thanks Wellington. We’ll go with “she” for now and re-evaluate if necessary. Should our goal be to “bulk her up” and, if so, what would the best strategy be? I read a lot about using standard Mazuri to add bulk but would rather not get her started on that if we don’t have to.

Here are some quick pics (pre and post soak - clearly needs her plastron cleaned) Let me know if you need more details of something to confirm sex. Confirmed her weight at 38lbs then gave her a good soak. She has a healthy appetite and hasn’t been picky with greens. Mixing in various add-ins...
