Loving the humidity of Hurricane Hilary

The warm rain was really bizarre, don’t remember another storm quite like it and I have lived in SoCal my whole life.

Loving the humidity of Hurricane Hilary

Usually a shy guy but was super active and curious during his outdoor time last Sunday. Also almost a year old now…

    Manouria keepers in TX

I think just raising them in groups for his kid and to maybe breed in the future. He breeds other reptiles though and a works with radiated and aldabras.

    Manouria photo dump

Mine will be one year old in September and was produced by Vic Morgan & John Bailey. So small when first received and took a bit to get them eating. They really are shy as babies and while he/she is housed alone, it helped at feeding time when I had my other tortoise present. He/she has gotten...

    Portable Outdoor Pen Idea

No I wanted some clarification on what your definition of a visual barrier is and why it would be necessary. It’s confusing to me to hear that it is needed but then I also read that with an enclosed glass/acrylic/pvc enclosed chamber like animal plastics where they can see out no blocking...

    Portable Outdoor Pen Idea

That recommendation might work for some tortoises but actually be worse for others. Mine for example, finds any barrier (like the wood in the picture you have above, plastic kiddie pool, Home Depot mixing tubs, etc.) a challenge to take on if he can’t see out. Yeah those would be easy to add - a saucer with water, screen and partial shade area. They are still a baby so pretty big for awhile.

    Portable Outdoor Pen Idea

Using a fire-pit ring over greens outside for when taking babies to get some sun. Also going to add some sort of screen and cover a portion to provide a shade escape.

    Watching Swamwari Untamed

Should be “Shamwari Untamed” but I am finding this site not the most user friendly. That plus fat fingers and a rogue autocorrect on my phone makes the spelling / grammar nerd in me somewhat frustrated. 😫

    Watching Swamwari Untamed

Interesting to see how the weather is over there. Lots of vegetation, lots of watery areas.

    New Leopard Baby Name Dilemma

Or Rebel…like I said too many choices! So now Dilemma seems the most fitting. I think that might just end up being his/her name. 😉 Thanks everyone!

    New Leopard Baby Name Dilemma

Hoss is cute! And I think he is a male too - the plastron is not flat and turns inward slightly, tail seems longer and looks more V than U around the tail to me. But who knows as he is only 6 months.

I love Fidget, Zigzag and Jigsaw! Now more options, haha. I am also considering Zale, Tonka, Kurma, Charlie…
