    Tiny Baby aka grogu

Hello it's been awhile since I've been on here. Tom was a true life saver when I first got our little sulcata. It was way to little to be sold to us and was almost a failure to thrive. Here it is a year later and spoiled as can be. Just wanted to say thank you to all you admins on here!

    Finally growing

Never thought we would get this little guy past the 50g mark! He's finally on an uphill climb and into a routine! We got it when it was pretty young but it already had pyramiding. I thought he may be a failure to thrive and we still aren't out of the woods but so good to see it gaining! Thanks...

    Traveling with 3mn old sulcata

We will be traveling for a few nights and have nobody to watch our little guy. My current plan is to get a car power inverter and move his whole little enclosure in the van with us. I would keep his Temps and routine the same and think he will probably sleep most of the way. I am thinking this...

    Sealant

Wondering opinions on what to use to seal wood to keep moisture out. There is obviously flex seal and wood sealants but are these safe to use for tortoises especially considering that the sealants will be exposed to heat which typically causes chemicals to release. Ill be making an enclosure for...

    Honey Locust

Anybody know if honey locust leaves and pods are ok for sulcatas? My chickens love it! I have several in the yard and need to know if I should keep the tortoise away from them. (Black locust are bad but can't find anything on honey locust).

    Pyamiding explained

Could somebody explain where I can see if pyramiding is still happening. My little Sully was started dry and obviously shows signs of pyramiding. Thanks to @Tom It's in an enclosed enclosure with humidity 77-82%. I know the dark brown is where the shell is growing. Am I just looking for that...

    Closed encloser

How long do you all suggest keeping baby sulcatas in closed enclosers? For those who keep juveniles inside what do your enclosures look like. Planning for the future. Eventually baby will get a large shed with a humid night box outside and a a fenced arce to roam this will be years from now...

    Bubbles from nose

Ok experts I know you have answered this so many times. My little sulcata started acting a little more sleepy today and I noticed it having bubbles from its nose. I upped the ambient temp to 85-90 and humidity is 75-80%. Basking is 95-100. I had his UV light on top of a metal grate lid and...

    Cottonwood tree

I have a 2mn old sully who will eventually move outdoors where we have many cottonwood trees and lots of leaves that fall to the ground. Does anybody know if these are safe? Can't find much online about cottonwood trees and tortoises! Also have fruitless mulberry trees which I've read are safe.

    Egg tooth

When do babies lose their egg tooth? I've read 4-6 weeks. Got a baby sulcata from a pet store who said they had them for 1mn and that they were about a month old when they got them. I'm beginning to think this baby is younger then I thought...

    Baby feeding

New baby sulcata about 2 months old. I've read conflicting advice about how often to offer food. Been feeding it spring mix, rose petals, and timothy hay daily. Have sprinkled it with calcium plus D3 once a week. Baby likes to eat. Currently kept just indoors under full spec uvb light as well as...
