    Help!

I have been a member of this forum for over five years. A few months ago, I stopped getting emails - don't know why. I wrote back then asking for help, but I'm asking again. I had to register again which is why it says I joined today. I would guess that my account was deleted, but I didn't...

No longer receiving posts via email

Can someone help me? I have been a member going on five years, and I noticed that a few weeks ago, I am no longer receiving posts via email. I've checked my settings, and it still says I should be receiving posts. I really miss not getting the posts. Thanks, K

    Redfoots

4 year old healthy, friendly female REDFOOTS in South Carolina. I will let everything go with them - indoor pens, outdoor pens, heating, lights, etc. I have CKD Stage 3, and I am finding myself not as capable as I used to be. I just want the girls into a good home. Thanks, k

    Moving Homes with Tortoise

I just moved (only three miles from the old house), and I brought my Redfoots here in a dog crate. They did just fine. I set up the new outside pen here, and they never went off their feed or got grumpy or anything. They are livin' the life in a bigger pen here. We moved fish years ago - the...

    Which tortoises species to consider?

I also live in SC, and I agree - it's too cold for too long in the winter for them to be outside. My girls have a very large pen (getting enlarged even more in two weeks) of six feet by 15 feet with a pond and tortoise-friendly plants. They spend all late spring, summer and early fall in that...

    What is this?

This is Gamera - the "humper."

    What is this?

Okay, here are this morning's pix of the "girls." Maybe not so concave after all? This is the smaller one - Maka.

    What is this?

Yes, his/her plastron is concave, but again, it's confusing because his/her tail is so short, but tomorrow I will split the pen and get a second pond for them. Thankfully, its a nice big pen. I will also get good pix of their plastrons and tails tomorrow in the daytime. Thanks

    What is this?

I had posted pix of them last year when they were three (four this past April), and the consensus was they were both female. I'll get better pix tomorrow. A couple of tarts. LOL Thanks

    What is this?

I went out to feed what I have thought were my two female redfoots. I heard what sounded like a frog in the pen, but when I lifted the hide cover, I see the big one humping the smaller one, making groaning noises. I turned "her" over to snap a pic, but what I got isn't much. It looked like a...

    Very sorry

    Is she dead?

I'm sorry for your tortoise, Gamera. I also have a female (Redfoot) named Gamera who is a little over four years old. My sympathies.

What species is best for me?

193 square meters is about .04 acres, right?

Why do so many folks make enclosures so barren???

Here's my outside pen - still in progress but coming along nicely. Since the nights have been almost as hot as the days (and while that continues), they spent their first night outside. They even ate in that enclosure - and ate very well.

    Outdoor daily playpen?

Now that I have the larger pen, I need tort-safe plants for the pen. I understand the Silver Kings (euonymus) are toxic to the torts so I'll take them out. Any recommendations for shade and cover that they can nibble on?
