    I know, I would never change without good reason, but the substrate needed changing. And yes, I agree re fruit. she gets tiny amounts every so often, less than 1% of diet. But thanks, I appreciate the reminder for all of us. I only ever want to do the best for her :)

    about cuttle bone

    I have (am caring for) a 28 year old RES and a few year old Hermanns. Both are/were school pets....and are now under my watchful eye with the tort being in my house! Both get the same cuttlebones, the RES will destroy and I think eat some, the tort will nibble at. I break off the sharper edges...
