First off there is little ( by a Vet ) medically that can be done for a redfoot [ or any tort ] a few months old. When "we" concentrate MORE on getting the "diet & habitat" right and less on "subjecting" them to being scrutinized by a Vet.. the sooner the NATURAL healing system...
I know.. you've seen egg-laying pics before.. showing them digging nest..

And maybe even ALMOST laying an egg..

Repositioning eggs for next egg(?)...
Since we don't know how he was cared for before you got him.. I can only guage by how mine grow: 6 months about 3".. 1 year 4".. 2 years upwards of 5".. 3 years over 6".. and then their growth slows down from there on.
