    Copper to prevent algae

Even if it gets pretty thick on the bottom? Honestly, I’m gonna trust whatever you say, it just makes me nervous that she’s walking through it so much.

    Copper to prevent algae

Thank you guys! Now that I think about it, I do have copper pipes that the water runs through that I soak her in normally. She doesn’t drink the water out of the hole as much because it’s usually pretty muddy and she drinks the water from her water bowl that is in the shade. I think I am going...

    Copper to prevent algae

I have a small hole in my yard that naturally collects water that my sulcata likes to soak in during the day. All of the water drains out overnight and I refill it in the morning but the soil never gets completely dry, so it grows quite a bit of algae. I’ve seen that putting a small copper pipe...

    Guinea Fowl with Tort

Hi, I live in central Oklahoma, and in the summer I typically just let my three-year-old sulcata roam the yard. I am considering getting a couple guineas to patrol for snakes, since I have a creek that runs behind my house. Do you guys think it would be safe for me to have them in the yard with...

I was thinking something kind of like this, but I don’t know how I would seal it

    Building a new enclosure

I’m building a new indoor enclosure for my 2 year old sulcata. I typically use a paint tray for his water dish and was thinking about adding some plumbing underneath to drain the water and clean it without taking the tray out. It’s a pain to take it out every day and I always end up spilling...

    White mark on shell

I pulled my Sulcata out for his bath today and he had this white mark on his shell. Do you think he just scraped it on his hide or is it something else? I’m worried because it’s right on the crease I know he has a little bit of pyramiding, he was kept in a dry enclosure before I got him.

    What plant is this???

I use the PlantNet app to identify the weeds in my yard and then check the tortoise table database to make sure it’s safe. It’s free and super easy and they have a lot of different pictures at different angles so you can be sure you properly identified it.
