So now the masses are panic buying temp guns...

Go to your local Harbor Freight or Ace Hardware if you’re looking for a temp gun. I was advised to go to Harbor freight because I couldn’t find anything online due to everything that’s going on. I got mine for $25 and there were probably about a dozen in stock.

So now the masses are panic buying temp guns...

Thank you. I was able to buy a little newborn health kit on Amazon today. It was $20 but at least we will have a thermometer. It never hurts for her to have an extra toothbrush, nail clippers and snot sucker either, I guess. Lol

So now the masses are panic buying temp guns...

Exactly. Rectal thermometers are the most accurate. Scarily enough, my daughter said she wasn’t feeling well last night and that she felt warm (she’s 2). So I went to grab our thermometer. It was either broken or the battery died. Went to 4 different stores to find a thermometer. Nothing. Went...

So now the masses are panic buying temp guns...

Yep. Because the airports are using them right now people think it’s an accurate way to take their temp. It’s really not the most accurate way for humans. Plus they aren’t realizing that the only reason they are using that method at the airports is because it’s the quickest, most sanitary...

So now the masses are panic buying temp guns...

Well...people are now panic buying temperature guns. Can’t find one under $60 anywhere right now. I’ve had 3 different ones all under $25 in my cart on Amazon so when I get paid this week I can buy it. Every time I add one to my cart, within a few hours it is sold out. Last week there were...

Making sure your tortoise is taken care of when you’re gone

This was actually one of my first thoughts before making the decision to buy our Sulcata due to their lifespan. I’m 28 so I still have a full life ahead of me (hopefully). My daughter will be turning 3 in the summer and we will be bringing our brand new Sulcata home towards the end of May after...

    Advice on sulcata tortoise behavior

Yes. Thank you! I’ve been doing so much reading over the past couple of weeks on here that I must be starting to confuse myself. Should I have that connected to the CHE or the basking bulb?

    Advice on sulcata tortoise behavior

@Tom Reading this post just reminded me I needed to ask you a question. I saw a post you made before about a controlled thermostat but can’t find the post again. What are they called again? I think you had said EZ Kill-a-watt or something like that, but I can’t find one anywhere. Whenever I try...

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

I love I love all of the green! When I create his bigger indoor enclosure in a few months I’m definitely going to incorporate more plants. But since he’s just going to be a hatchling and his enclosure is a decent sized storage tub I’m trying to add some green, but also make sure he has optimal...

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

Good to know! Right now I’m just working on a closed chamber enclosure in a 48”L x 24”H storage tub. My new baby Sully isn’t expected to hatch until 5/21. So I had just planned on putting 1, maybe 2, small plants in there. I don’t want to take up too much wandering room. But I did just purchase...

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

Do you plant them in the substrate or a pot? Trample resistant is a good thing! I was going to plant them in a pot, but if I can get away with planting in the substrate that would be even better.

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

Lol!! Yes, I’ve already figured that was a large possibility. I’m planning on planting it in a terra cotta pot and placing it behind his hide. He hasn’t hatched yet (expected to hatch 5/21) so I’m hoping to get at least a month or 2 in of satisfying my OCD before he gets big enough to climb his...

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

Yes, I have made sure that everything I’m planting in and outside of the enclosure is planted in organic, food-grade soil. I’m also starting everything from seeds because I just don’t trust what stores use and would never want to risk his health.

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

Thank you. I saw something called an Ocean Spider plant that blooms white flowers. Is it safe to say those wouldn’t be toxic as well?

Are Spider Plants safe for Sulcata enclosure?

I have am starting an outdoor garden full of flowers and grasses among other things for my Sulcatas diet. But I wanted to put a hardy plant inside of his enclosure to add some color and make it more lively. Are spider plants safe for Sulcatas if they try to eat them?

    Sulcata Hatchling Grasses?

That does make for a nice salad! Thanks for the info. As far as where I should place the food dish and soaking dish, should I keep the food dish away from the basking lamp and soaking dish near the basking lamp for added humidity? Or should I place the water dish away from the basking lamp as well?
