    I got these three species growing in my garden. Are they safe for hermans? and will they want to eat them? As long as they're safe its a win win as if they eat them then I can use them as feeders and if they aren't keen on them I can plant them in the enclosure to look nicer ;) Thanks :)

    Are all Opuntia safe?

    Thanks :) I've got some indica pads coming, one for food now the rest to grow on, but I've been using some of the other Optunia I got (just been removing/burning off the glochids) as well. I can now use this as an excuse to get more species/varieties of Optunia for when my girlfriend says no...

    Echinopsis chamaecereus

    Thats one of the reasons I'm asking as they are covered in spines but I've heard from other people (with other cactus species) that smaller spines aren't an issue and they just get on with it. This is for Hermanns btw :)

    Are all Opuntia safe?

    Just checking are there any unsafe Opuntia species or is it safe to assume all Opuntia species are safe? (I assume of course spined types need to have spines removed and maybe ideal to singe off small spines?)
