I found a large wooden crate, turned it upside down on a rubber matt in the stall in the barn... stanfiled heat matt in winter and they do just fine...

Well, that does sound easy! But you have a barn!
for those of us without horse stall or barns, we have to invest the $ into building the mini insulated houses.

Yeah It has to look like an awesome house to keep the wife off my back lol. I don't have a large property so no where to stash it away.

Thank You Tom. Yeah I just hired someone and gave them a link to your build. Cool thing is they have 14 tortoises and never have been on this site. Hopefully he becomes a new member.
Go to a shipping place and see if anyone is selling any wood crates, there are tons of them out there that are free and made of 100% plywood.
