Tort tail behavior

Hello,
My Russian wags his tail as he walks and it moves back and forth like a dogs tail ?
Does anyone know why they do that? It makes me laugh!!

My Redfoot does the same and I've always wondered too.

Mine did that too. Hilarious! Maybe it helps spread their scent over a wider area? Granted, not much wider, but I guess every little bit helps. :tort:
