I was lucky enough to see mature 2 boxies (most likely 3-toed) on my property today. And they were only about 20 ft apart, making me wonder if they were "together" despite turtles supposedly not being sociable, or whether it was coincidence. I could hear the 2nd one rummaging in the leaves from where i was watching this one. I think she is female. The other one was real shy. So i only took pics of the bold one.

I love that face. It's a beautiful turtle. I've never seen one in the wild....

I had to rehome this pretty little lady today. Her habitat in town was being cleared, so i took her to my rural wooded place, soaked her. She ate 3 darkling beetles and mangled a 4th.

I re-homed a full-grown one yesterday, same reason.3tbt5.16.jpg

both are very beautiful thanks for sharing! I found a red ear slider that got ran over by one of our box trucks backing into our warehouse docks today. broke my heart but I gave him/her a proper burial. a rain storm came in and I think he was headed across the parking lot looking for a better life than in our drain off water reservoir. bum deal all around......I really like to see all torts and turts wild and healthy too!

Love box turtles and how they are all unique. We use to call box turtles with that type of for clown faced. But think that may be outdated term haha

the pic of the first turtle looks a bit like my own female Three toed, Bernadette. she has those lighter marks on her beak.

Found another pretty face today. Couldn't get the best pic because he is pretty skittish and wouldn't stick out much.

This is the 3rd wild 3-toe i've found on my property so far this year. All pretty shy.
I also saw 2 more crossing the dirt road right near my place.
All 5 are adults.
