I still can't seem to get Toby's enclosure warm enough! I have a regular type lamp, and a ceramic heat emitter (About 60 Watt I believe), and the temperature is not where it should be. What else can I do to add heat to Toby's enclosure?

He has been eating off and on. He ate the dandelions yesterday and his romaine, but today he barely ate the romaine. He is fairly active though.

The area around Toby's snot appears to be a reddish, brown color. I have only had him for a little over a week, so I don't know if he had it when I got him but I was wondering if this was indicative of a disease or is a warning sign. Should I be concerned? Or is this normal? Thanks!

You have a good memory! My tortoise is a Russian. =) I soaked mine because the previous owner did weekly, and she instructed me to do so. So much dirt came off of him when I soaked him, so I figured it was good that I did. I'm new to the tortoise world, so I readily admit that I don't know...
