    UPDATED HATCHLING ENCLOSURE

Screwed it in at the border using 8-1/2 inch screws then capped them on the back side to avoid any edges. Then just used gorilla tape to seal and border the front. Has held up great for the past couple months.

    4" Sulcata

@TheDukeAnumber1 so I spoke with my fiancé and with the wedding coming up soon we agreed it's not a good time to take in another. I hope that someone else agrees to give Bowser a warm home and best of luck to you! Sorry we aren't able to help!

    4" Sulcata

Hello my friend! This is a tough decision, I'm sure. If I can convince my fiancé, I would love to have Bowser come down to Florida. If noone else responds in the next day or so then I will get back in touch with you regarding this. I'm currently housing 1 young sulcata under 1 year and have...

    UPDATED HATCHLING ENCLOSURE

Made some adjustments to my little guys enclosure today. I added the plexiglass window to the front for better viewing (and so I don't have to let out the humidity and heat whenever I check in on him)... I found that with this enclosure, aluminum foil over the top holds in the heat and humidity...

    New Sulcata Owner

I took the advice of some of you and switched out the bulb to a mercury vapor bulb. It's been going on a month now and the eye rubbing has stopped. I also dropped the lamp lower into the enclosure to raise the temps up slightly and there have been no signs of respiratory infection. By covering...

The enclosure stays between 78 and 85 degrees with the basking area at 100-105. The humidity ranges from 20-30% near the heat source and in the 50's elsewhere with a humid hide and covered area around 80%. I soak him/her daily and am now aware I should be misting him/her as well. Coconut coir is...

    New Sulcata Owner

Hello all, I am the new owner of a very curious and active little Sulcata hatchling. Joban has been with me for about a month and seems to be thriving thanks to information I've received on this forum. Looking forward to the challenges and treats of raising this little one and watching it grow...

    Hatchling Shell

I use the reptisun 10.0 uvb bulb and a zoo med repti basking spot lamp during the day and also try to provide an hour or so every other day at least outside in South Florida sunlight around mid morning.

    Hatchling Shell

Hello All, As a rule, what are the signs to determine how hard or soft a hatchling Sulcata tortoise shell should be? My torts top shell is hard and does not give, but the bottom middle and the sides have a slight give to them. Hard when tapped but gives with some pressure. Has not seemed to...

    Edible Florida Weeds/Grasses/Wildflowers

Thank you, Yvonne. I actually came across that after posting. I will be sure to stay away from the tasselflower. Any other input or other good options appreciated!

    Edible Florida Weeds/Grasses/Wildflowers

This one I believe is Biden's pilosa or Cobbler's pegs. A very prominent wildflower down here in FL.

    Edible Florida Weeds/Grasses/Wildflowers

This one is called the Florida tasselflower. I can not find any information on if it is edible or not for Sulcata tortoise.
