I got a good picture of his tail today while he was relieving himself. Thoughts? Looks Long to me, but I don’t really have much to compare to. Thanks for your help!

A couple more photos to help make your decision. Hard to see, but I think the tail is pretty long and wrapped up in there, but I am not 100% sure because it wouldn’t let me ease it out of there. It looks pretty concaved to me. I am leaning male.

Hmmm. If he is going to center himself on the mat, I wonder if I should get a wider mat than the 18". If I get the 18 inch wide mat and push it to the side, he wont really be able to get totally centered...

I have been looking through the threads and I am still unsure on my tortoise which sex it is. The anal scutes seemed to be shaped more like a male, but I probably should try to get a better look/photo of the tail itself. The plastron has a little concave to it, but I am not sure it is as deep...

I will adjust as recommended. I can make the opening smaller very easily and still maintain the aesthetic I am looking for. It might look even better. I plan on adding the clear vinyl flaps as well. I have been looking at Tom's posts and think I will get the radiant heat panel and the Kane...

I have a Kane Mat ordered already and am going to add some heavy vinyl curtain strips to the doorway. Might add a solar side light for aesthetics. Maybe an American Flag on one side too!

Here is a another view from a different angle during the roofing process.

Tortoise is about 85 lbs. His shell is about 18" wide and 24" long. I haven't measured the opening exactly, but it is about 32" wide I think.

Still need some additional details including a heat source. Going to pull out the pavers underneath and give my sulcata some nice bedding in there. Thoughts?
