Sulcata - Black eyes and mouth

Did I swear somewhere that I wasn't aware of? I agree. Please post a post condeming Maggie also and I'll respect what you have to say. I didn't say I want to. I just said that's how it is, so give me a good reason to change it up. My tort has the EXACT same kind of enclosure I have...

Sulcata - Black eyes and mouth

Hi Maggie. If you reread my post, I was just saying your comments sounded like they might be a little self righteous. But I don't know you, so I wasn't sure. But I am now :) In your last post you start off by saying: I'll show you self righteous! And then you continue later saying: There's...

Sulcata - Black eyes and mouth

I live in AZ, and I have a completely enclosed backyard with grass and desert landscaping etc. We just moved in a few months ago and are in the process of redoing the backyard. The original plan was to build an area on one side of the yard for the torts but they've both basically dug themselves...

Sulcata - Black eyes and mouth

Hi Maggie. Your tone here seems a little self righteous? My sulcata eats 100% natural grasses and plants. (other than poop apparently heh) The only thing outside of that she gets are an occasional lettuce leaf as a treat. Her shell seems perfectly formed and as far as I can tell she's in perfect...

Sulcata - Black eyes and mouth

Quick question: My sulcata is about 3 years old now and I feel like he has excessive black around his eyes and mouth. Any idea what causes this? His diet is pretty much exclusively grass and plants. Thanks! Mark

    Sleeping through the day?

I have a desert and a sulcata, and they both have not appeared some days. Seems pretty normal to me. Mark

    Weird Tortoise Behavior

Not sure what is normal, but my sulcata is over 2 years old and is barely 4" long, (really its not even 4" I don't think) so yours might be older than you think. Mark

Saw this tort, just wondering what kind

Hrm ok, what do people with different kinds of torts normally do, keep them in different habitats? Thanks! Mark

Saw this tort, just wondering what kind

So no luck finding the owner of the desert tortoise, so I guess my sulcata is getting a permanent friend. The seem to like each other at least :) Mark

Saw this tort, just wondering what kind

This one is about 7" long. Anyone have a guess as to about how old he/she is? A friend of ours found it in the street in his neighborhood. Mark

Saw this tort, just wondering what kind

I did some searching around online, and this tort seems darker than most of the desert tortoise pictures I saw. (I'm in AZ) Just wondering if anyone can confirm what kind of tortoise this is. Thanks! Mark
