I rescued my tortoise from a little old lady going into an assisted living home. This tortoise lives for the last 13 years in her very tiny backyard with a huge pool. He fell in once and she was able to rescue it. He never fell in again. The yard was so tiny I was afraid just to walk by the big in ground pool in case I fell in! Smart tortoise! He only ate grass and flowers so that is what I feed him now. I have a large 18,000 sft lot, mostly backyard. He gets his exercise now!
