Hi there,
So about 2 weeks ago I moved home from an appartmemt. I moved my Hermanns tortoise as well but didn’t change anything. His diet. His temps. His everything stayed the same. And he just hid away. Which is totally normal for him when I change out his substrate so I didn’t look too deep...
I put my 2 yr old tortoise in an all pellet diet. I started by giving him half veggies and half pellets and then all pellets. I weighed him before I started and then after two week of the diet. Well he's very underweight unfortunately. I'm kinda lost at what to do. Take him off the diet? Change...
hey guys
So I was reading about male mating and stuff and it said they should be around 5" and I was wondering. Is that from side to side or "head" to tail. Or exactly how do you measure the length
I was told calcium sand and coconut husk or bark would be a good substrate but maybe they were wrong. And I soak the bark or husk before I put it in so its moist. It's just not in the pic because I haven't bought any yet ( I just cleaned his tank a few hours ago lol)
I normally have more coconut bark in there but I haven't bought any yet but I did recently move his log to the corner to see if that makes any difference.
It's a 20 gallon and he's just over 5.5 cm I think. He's only just recently begun climbing so my guess is maybe just being bored. The more I hold him and interact with him the less he circles so it's probably just a curious little guy:p:<3:
my tortoise is obsessed with trying to climb his walls and corners. Idk if he's seeing his reflection or what but is there a way to stop this? Is there something wrong with him and that's why he's doing this?
I'm going on a trip and planning on taking my little hermmy and the drive there is about 3-4 ish hours and I'm wondering if that's too long without heat.
What's extreme heat? Above 30? If it does reach extreme high heat should I just keep him in water as long as possible or what's the best way to cool him off
