That made a lot of sense..
I did not get to check as it was flushed down the toilet after the above photos were taken..
However, I found a picture in google that looked like the one I had.. It was named 'opaque white caterpillar with black head on leaf, Thailand'
I tried searching more using...
That's weird, I soak my tortoise twice a day in warm water for 30 minutes each soak (noon and night)
It literally gets more bath time than I do..:rolleyes::rolleyes:
There's a water dish in his enclosure too in case he wants to have a drink.. I change the water in the dish once...
Holy cow.... one worm can poop that much?
The worm is almost transparent though and can see its insides.. I tried squeezing it and the thing that came out its back end seemed to resemble those tiny black stuff... hmm...
I live in Malaysia.. and my tortoise is an Indian star
My tortoise just excreted this huge white coloured stuff(sink) followed by a normal dark poop(float)..
The white thing looks flat because my tortoise stepped on it when soaking..
Was wondering what this white stuff is? If it matters, I fed the tortoise a tiny chunk of pineapple a day before...
So recently I plucked a bunch of leaves and rinsed them thoroughly (meticulously rubbed each leaf) and soaked the stems in water so they would live for a little while (few days) until I feed them to my tortoise..
Today I went to check on the leaves and was shocked to see a small caterpillar on...
Just out of curiosity, what is the use of this soup? Is it a replacement for water so the tortoise drinks it?
And how to make the soup? Is it by boiling a bunch of carrots in water?
Lol, it's something that stuck with me from fish keeping.. The first thing to check if a fish is sick is the poop (usually a good indicator)
Now I'm just obsessed in making sure the tortoise is well cared and learning new things on this forum :D
Thanks a lot for the info!!
The tortoise only gets fruits occasionally.. Its main diet are leaves plucked from nearby hiking trail..
It enjoys eating them :D
How much do they cost in the US?
Lol when it's durian season, the street is literally filled with the aroma
The locals here go crazy for these fruit.. most that I know anyways :D
I'm trying out different food to add to its diet :p Even humans get bored eating the same thing everyday.. lol
Thanks for the swift reply.. Apparently, it happened a while ago when my sister took it for a walk in the sun.. even she doesn't know how it got that wound.. *facepalm*
Since the tortoise is under her care, I never noticed until these few days when I've to babysit it..
Strangely enough, in just...
Hello everyone, I have a young star tortoise that was bought last December and today I noticed something sticking out of its carapace (in between two scutes)..
It looks like a tiny part of its shell came off and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before..
Not sure if I should be concerned as the...
