    Thanks Angela. That was my assumption. I have no intention to obtain these, I am just use to common and species name. "Dirt Turtle" didn't help me at all. lol

    Seriously, this is messed up. Get yourself a beware of dog sign, a never mind the dog beware of owner sign, a mastiff crossing sign, and a huge dog bowl that says "spike" or "killer" on it. :)

    a different rescue

    I have moved tortoises out of harm's way all my life and will continue to do so. I have had Sheriff Deputies stop and help me here in Arizona. :D

    I am located in Tucson and would cut off my left arm to adopt a Desert hatchling. Are any still available? :)

    Cypress Mulch v's Coco Coir??

    Squeeze out the excess water and mix the coir with play sand (50/50 by volume). Cypress can cause problems with splinters.
