hi all, I currently have @ 1 baby CDT. I really want to get him a friend, but I'm not sure if it’s a good idea. He's only about 7 months old. Are tortoises typically ok when new torts are introduced? or do they become territorial? Or are they happier in pairs? Thanks :D

lol well, I actually got him as a gift for christmas and my sister told me it was a sulcata. Only after taking him into a reptile store and the store owner practically pushing me out the door because he didn't want an illegal animal in his shop did i find out that he was a CDT. Now looking...

I stopped by the expo yesterday morning. lots of neat tortoises/turtles with great stories. unfortunatly a lot of sick/injured animals, but they helped educate new tortoise owners (such as myself) or perspective tortoise owners of what to do/not to do. loved it, wish they had events like that...

I'm concerned that my tortoise is growing too fast. He has a big appetite, I feed him once-twice daily, with the reptivite supplement sprinkled on roughly every other day. Hes over doubled in size since i got him (5 months ago). what do you think?

Hi all! My hatchling desert tortoise (6 months old) has a black mouth. When he was younger he sometimes ate his poop, but I haven't noticed him doing it anymore (the evidence used to be on his front lefts from manipulating his little snack). Even though i'm rather sure hes no longer eating...
