Why wouldn't this type of diet work?

Well, if you think thumping them on the head is funny, you'll LOVE this: I am going to try and potty train them. When I start to see them poo I rush them to the toilet and hold them over it until they're done. Then they get praised by words, love hugs and a treat that they love ( it's...

does Mazuri work for you? Good/Bad

Tom, this is my problem too. I just cringe when I see the high fat and protein content but so many others swear by it. BUT why in the world would a Sulcata benefit in eating fat? I'm about at my wit's ends however and am running out of ideas so I may be forced to try it.

Why wouldn't this type of diet work?

Thanks for the replies, guys. Camelot is 6 months and Bogie and Bacall are 3-4 years old. The raw pumpkins were just too hard for them to eat, even when I hacked them into itty bitty pieces. So I cooked a bunch of a little larger pieces and put them in the freezer to use throughout the year...

Why wouldn't this type of diet work?

My Sulcata's are making me crazy, worrying about their health. Yesterday I cooked three pumpkins (took almost all day to cut them up, cook in hot oven with small water added, and repeat process.) What I am finding is that almost every Sulcata site recommends different items/supplements...

    I found this so endearing.

A friend sent this video to me. Because I'm new at owning/respecting the great Sulcata I had never seen it. Most of you probably have. But whether you have or haven't it's sure to bring a smile to your face. And these days, we all need that! It takes a second to load. Love...

    Sulcata shell growth

maybe OK, now I'm concerned again. Camelot is 6 months old and appears very healthy and happy. He's outside sunbathing with Bogie and Bacall right now (eating clover and crape myrtle leaves). If there is no sun (such as the cold months coming up he is under 10-12 hours of UVB/UVA...

    pyramiding

Good Lord, That looks natural to me. My 6 month old looks like that. I swear I take excellent care of him in every way. Can someone explain why these photos represent pyramiding? Thanks. This scares me to death, BTW.

Mazuri tort food for baby sulcata

I don't get it for several reasons. FreshMarine.com uses it on their tortoises- all of which have severe pyramiding by the age of 3 or 4 years old. This is the breakdown of the food elements: Guaranteed Analysis * Crude protein not less than 15.0% This means it could even be MORE than...

    Baby turtles/Tortoises less than 4"

RE: Baby turtles/Tortoises less than 4" Not here in Oklahoma! There's not a day that went by this summer that people weren't swerving all over the country roads to avoid hitting one that was basking in the MIDDLE of the road, unfazed!

Help ! (My Russian has escaped)

Dear Nikki, I am new here and feel your pain. In April I purchased a Sulcata Hatchling (more about where NOT to buy from later!) I named this little baby "Camelot" because he reminded me of what a pure and precious earth his family once lived in. I have rescued and rehabilitated "death row"...

I am having a very bad Sulcata week! HELP!

Maybe I shouldn't post this all in one thread or in my introduction. If I should do so elsewhere to get more advice I'd really appreciate it because it contains several issues. This started before I moved home to Oklahoma last year from Las Vegas. My next door neighbor moved in with a...
