    Russian tortoise acting weird

Hey guys, So, my 2 year old Horsfield (Russian) tortoise has been acting strangely lately, abnormal to how he used to be. For context, he used to be very active always exploring and I do change things around every now and again and he seems to love it. Burrowing, using his hide. Even climbing...

Large pebbles in enclosure? Yes or no?

Hi guys, this isn’t really that big of a deal but I saw lots of people saying yes to people who asked the same question as me and a lot of people who said no. So I wanted to know if I should or not? My tortoise is a 11ish month old horsfield and I’m wondering if I can put large pebbles / rocks...

White, powdery thing on my tortoise’s beak?

Thank you so much for your suggestions for heating. Do you think I should make any action about the white stuff on his beak? I looked up the symptoms of respiratory infection in tortoises and he doesn’t seem to have any of them. He’s eating well, no sulky eyes, very active - etc etc.

White, powdery thing on my tortoise’s beak?

Hi! Thank you for another reply, he is a horse field tortoise. His basking spot reaches about 29C - 31C, his warm side is usually around 26C, cool side about 20C or low 20s and when I turn his lamp and UVB off for night it stays at about room temperature (thinking about it I’m not sure if that’s...

White, powdery thing on my tortoise’s beak?

Hey thank you for the reply! He’s a horse field tortoise. I’m 99% sure it isn’t calcium or cuttle bone residue. I couldn’t really say about the nostril part. Here’s a closer up picture.

White, powdery thing on my tortoise’s beak?

Hey guys, I’ve learnt so much on what to feed my tortoise, what to provide for my tortoise from the forums and I thought atleast one of you might know something about what’s happening? Today I was giving my tortoise a soak when I realised there was a white powdery substance on his beak. He...

If what you’re thinking is he’s pyramiding, he isn’t don’t worry! I called him bumpy randomly not because of what he looks like Lol, he’s only about 9ish months old. If you’re just genuinely wondering what he looks like, sorry lol

Is there any other foods I can add to my tortoise’s diet for variety?

Hey guys! I’m new to the tortoise forum and tortoise-keeping in general. I wanted to ask other people on the forum for feedback on my horse field tortoise’s diet. At the moment I feed him grass, kale, bok choy (in moderation) and collard greens. I feel like I might be missing something or that...
