Tom offers his Box Turtles a pretty nice spread. I love the moment when the turtle scarfs down the worm and accidentally eats a piece of fruit. That's enough to make any parent proud :)

Also, what are those worms and where do you get them? Mine live on red wigglers, super worms and crickets. Only recently did my juveniles start eating their veggies and fruits without some form of trickiness on my part but it is HARD to get crickets to stay put in a fruit bowl and my babies easily pick out the red wigglers.

This is an Eastern Box Turtle that lives in Wales :)

The worms are like wax worms. Those worms barely move and they are very attractive to he turtles. They aren't the best nutritionally, but they can be great for getting a finicky eater to take a bite! They're a safer choice than mealworms as well.

Anthony- you say they're a safer choice than meal worms- what is the issue with meal worms?

I was referring to the exoskeleton in mealworms that can be tough to digest and can cause impaction if fed too often.

These worms are just fattening, really.
