I have replaced the substrate with orchid bark as suggested and it seems to have made an instant difference to the humidity. It went up to 81% earlier. Will spraying the orchid bark with water help maintain this? And how high is too hugh regarding humidity?

Spraying substrate doesn't work really well (it dries out instantly). But you can pour some cups of water in the corners. This way top layer will stay dry, but lower damp layer will sustain humidity. It's done once in a week or so usually. Also once a month you can mix top and bottom layers.

Aim for humidity of 70-80% with correct temperatures. A day with 100% humidity in a warm enclosure should not do any harm, but maybe outside comfort zone. I think @wellington can tell better as she keeps leopards.

Like Alex and the Redfoot said, spraying will dry up to quickly. Pour warm water into the substrate so it's damp, not saturated but very damp.
