We moved our tortoise out of the fridge on Friday, after about four months. She's a pro but it was our first time managing any hibernation.
She became fairly active at around 48 degrees so we warmed her up a little faster than planned. Once she got all the way out, she changed her mind (Of course she did!). She took a lap around her night box, yawned, and went back to sleep for a day or so.
Yesterday she was ready for a drink and this morning we were surprised to see her out and about. By this afternoon, she recognized the food god and came barreling over.
It's easy to see how active Russians must be in the wild when spring comes!
She's just doing what she's built for but we are pretty excited about "our" success.
