Here are some pics from a house I built for my sulcata. It's 48 x 40 and 36 in at its peak. I put the roof on hinges so I can get inside it. I put a heating pad under the wood slats to protect it from wear and tear.

Welcome to the Forum, jimmyvegas!

I really like the idea of protecting the heating pad, however, the sulcata tortoise pees quite a bit during the night and while he's inside his house. The pad is liable to be sitting in moisture.

You've done a very nice job of providing a good sleeping place for your sulcata.

Can we see pictures of the shed's inhabitant?

This is Picabo. He's 14 years old and about 100 lbs. We've had him for 3 months now. He outgrew the previous owners yard.

Never seen that sort of heating pad. You sure it's safe for the application you intend to use it for? You've got some nice design elements. Are you going to put plywood inside to protect the insulation. The first time he tries to turn around in there, he'll shred it.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product with door in place and all.

And welcome to the forum.

That's very nice. One thing you could do to protect the heat pad from moisture is put in a tile floor and silicone in between the tiles.
