Depends on how you are housing it. Those bulbs will over heat a closed chamber, but they work okay in an open topped enclosure in most cases. Only your thermometer can really answer this question.

Be aware that these types of bulbs tend to desiccate the carapace and contribute to pyramiding. I moved away from them years ago and won't use them anymore, but some people like them. I prefer a 65 watt flood bulb from the hardware store and a long tube for light and UV.
