My name is Pat. My husband, Frank and I live just north of Reno,nv. The
valley we live in is higher in elevation than Reno therefore our temps are
more extreme.
We found a desert tortoise walking down a nearby street. She came right
up to us so is used to people, I believe. Since we can't locate her owner,
we have adopted her for now. There is no tortoise rescue in my county so I have been learning, on line how to care for her. She is 14 and 1/2"
in length. I am curious what her aproximate age might be.

Welcome to the Forum!!

There's no way to tell her age, but she's more than likely full grown at that size, and if smooth, probably older than 20 or 30 years. Can we see a picture?
