Soaking tortoise stress them?

Maybe my tortoise is just weird, but she really seems to dig her soaks. In fact, I cut it short today and when I returned her to her enclosure...she went into her water dish!

Lol.

I don't think you can generalize soaking/not soaking to all climates and tortoise/turtle species.
You have to know your tortoises/turtles, watch them: elimination, activity, etc. A lot of climates are humid, others are very dry. Inside enclosures vs outside?
Gradually you learn what is best for them. For those tortoises who need soaking, many don't like it, but as Tom mentions, life is still usually much less stressful than it could be. Soaking is a minor inconvenience.
