Went for a hike at our favorite nature area, which unfortunately is undergoing a major construction project to build a road. It's very sad cause the road sides on a pond and separates it from a tree line and grazing field.
We discovered one of the victims of this construction trapped and dead in the deep mud of one of the trenches created by the heavy machinery a few weeks ago. However, I am happy to say, we found a tenacious little female that made it to the fence so we deconstructed said fence, brought her through and put her on the edge of the pond. All without losing any digits to her snapping mouth lol
I don't know much about snappers, but from what I have looked up for the kids it appears she might have been a young female. Hopefully she lays more babies and picks the other side of the pond to get out on.
