1. A small pinch of calcium once a month
3. Telling that keeper to hibernate their tortoise next winter is bad advice I believe. He's a new keeper having trouble now, why throw hibernatiion into them mix? To me anyway. I mean no insult, it's just my opinion and experience

1. Calcium twice a week is what Tom recommends in his care sheets. I just take it for granted now.
2. Maybe you are right... I mentioned brumation with sole intent to avoid building super-insulated-heated winter sheds if they are not necessary. I understand that it is not relevant to the situation "here and now".

And, of course, I don't take it as an insult. I'm a tortoise newbie and happy to learn from more experienced people here.

Probably 65 watt to a 100 watts should work for basking. Might need more than one if using for heat too.
