My male Hermanns is around 80 years old and I'm concerned about the condition of his shell. He appears to be well in himself. Just came out of hibernation full of strength and Randy!
Please have a look at the pictures and tell me what you think.

SORRY I'VE ALREADY POSTED THIS. i COULDN'T FIND IT WHEN i SEARCHED FOR IT. :(

I'm concerned about the shell condition on 0ne of my male Hermanns. He's approx 80 years old. He's just come out of hibernation. He looks well in himself. He's very strong and chasing the females. The tortoises have full run of the garden and get lots of natural sun light and natural food.
Please look at the attached pictures. Any comments appreciated.
Many thanks, Rob.2017-03-27 15.24.39.jpg 2017-03-27 15.24.17.jpg 2017-03-27 15.25.11.jpg

Are the cracks/scratches new? Has he always had them?

I should look so good at 80! He looks fine. That big chunk out of the shell at the leg is old and not a problem.

Thanks for the comments. His shell has looked like this for many years. I wondered if I should e feeding some sort of supplement.
I provide cuttle bone (collected from beaches in the winter) which some will eat but I've never seen this one eat it.
I give him a snail now and then, which he loves and eats all the shell as well.
