Russian Tortoise Shell Concern

Hi All, I have noticed a white thick line around my torts shell, I'm not sure what it is but I'm concerned.

Growth lines

They'll darken as they age, but there will be new white lines come until your stops growing

That is new growth coming in.

Has the appetite picked up in spring?

He also has it on the bottom of his shell as well, is that normal also?

my female russian has growth lines on top and underneath, and on the side, of her shell. Which of course is great, her shell when i initially got her looked like the scutes were crammed together. Just waiting for Max to start developing growth lines and I'll be a happy tort mom.

Remember to provide adequate humidity (and access to water) with occasional soaks.
