They WILL learn that a certain sound means food.
Mine respond to me tapping on the inside of the enclosure with my fist. A knocking noise.

I thought my Russian was approaching me because he was being territorial?
they also have a very good sense of smell. I place the food at the feeding station outside the tortoise shed and they start coming out to eat almost right away and they can't see out the vinyl strips.
