Questions About Tortoise Delivery

Hi everyone! I'm planning to have a 1.5 month old tortoise delivered promptly next month. Any tips on what I should do once I remove him from the box? Should I soak him immediately? Thanks in advance, I'm excited yet nervous! This is going to be my first tortoise.

What species? What is the source you are buying from?

If you buy from the right source, it won't matter much what you do right out of the box. Conversely, if you buy from the wrong source, it also won't matter much what you do right out of the box.

Can you tell I'm a fan of buying from the right source?

I would give a nice warm soak as soon as you get him out of the box. Then place in the enclosure with some food and water and leave him be until the next day.

@Tom thanks for your reply! I'm buying from a very trusted breeder by experience (my cousin has a Russian tortoise). I'm getting a Sulcata
