Hi everyone, as. It's of you know, I'm getting something to cover half of spuds enclosure for humidity. Here's the question: what should I cover it with? Glass? Plastic? Also does it have to be a certain type of glass/plastic as it is going to get hot.

Here's spud outside having a bath and grazing:

Why will it get hot? You won't put the bulbs on it because it will block the UVB rays.

Use glass or plexi, whatever you can afford & handle. You can use a vinyl shower curtain, too, just make sure it can't droop.

I use a plastic bin cover and lots of tinfoil.

I just use plastic because it's cheap easy and my enclosures are in a tortoise room. They don't need to be pretty.

We put the covers over the lights like a tent or else put holes in the cover for the lights. Because yes, covers block uv.

It would help, but you can use a cover with holes cut in for the lights.

Thank you, I tried the humid hide but spud won't give up eating the sphagnum moss and climbing and flipping on this back on the humid hide so I'm going to cover 1/2 or 2/3 of his enclosure over.
