I put some plastic up on the opening of Nodder's hide about 3 months ago. It keeps his humidity at GREAT levels. As you can see he's plows right on through!
The water beads up just after I mist in there and then it clears up a bit.

He's 16 months now--it goes so fast.

He's thinking about getting a bite to eat.

Thats pretty cool. Does he try to eat it at all? How long did it take him to learn he could walk back and forth through it. Great idea.

No-he's never tried to eat it, or even pay it any attention-and I'm obsessed with watching him! :) I didn't cut the bottom of the plastic straight, that's why there is a jagged edge.
He walked through it the moment I put it up. One of the benefits of wanting to walk through see through things!

I've gotten a few inquiries asking how Nodder gets in and out of his hide and am I worried that he will suffocate with plastic. No, I'm not a bit worried. The plastic is cut in the middle so when he plows through, both sides move away. Also, the plastic is very thick, so it never wraps around his precious little face.
I've had it on his hide for a few months now and he's never paid a bit of attention to it. I watched him at first to make sure all was ok.
I've had him since he was a month old and as you can see, he's very smooth and at almost 17 months and 5 1/2 inches, that's quite the accomplishment (if I do say so myself)! :p
I appreciate the concern though--really I do!:)

He's one of the smoothest I've seen. Nice job.

Nice curtains too.
