RE: OUTRAGED

RE: OUTRAGED

It isn't fake. That has been on here before, and it isn't suppose to be fake.

RE: OUTRAGED

I believe it's true...how can people be so cruel!! is the almight dollar that important? as I read it I was thinking I want to go there and buy out the vendor so I can cut the bags open and let them out..but they'd probably be caught again and sealed back up!! and I can't bring them home they wont make it past customs!!! :(

RE: OUTRAGED

Some cultures do not look at living things the way we do.

Its awful, but that is the way it is elsewhere.

I have seen it also. It is true. How do you stop them? There is nothing we can do...

RE: OUTRAGED

Yes, this isn't new-sadly there is little we can do about it though. For anyone wanting more info on the problems with chelonia in china, I can send you some links.

RE: OUTRAGED

i have been to many countries in asia and lived there for 5 years (currently back in the states). the value of life is generally not the same as it is here. i'm not saying that every person there feels that way, but in general. i have worked with people in several countries who were persecuted. some were child sex slaves, some persecuted because of religion, some because of their financial status, some because of their particular lineage, etc. i've sat and interviewed children who watched their entire families be slaughtered and homes burned by the burma army. (ever watched the movie rambo iv? i've been with the folks that took all the real, original footage from burma at the beginning of the film. that wasn't an act, that actually happened. the acting part of the film was shot just near where i lived at the time.) i say all of that, just to make us more aware. i hate this deal with the turtles. it sickens me. but, i'm also sorry to say that it may get more media attention than the struggle that the people are going through.

RE: OUTRAGED

The bonsai kittens were fake. This turtle thing isn't. Sad and disturbing, but believable.

Fact is:

If there are people who buy that, they have customers- i am exactly the same opinion with betta bowls!!!
A "beta" needs a "minimum" tank of 25 gal full of plants and hiding spots - so all these themes are full of endless discussions ;)

Nature is nature and humans just can try to rebuild their habitat as good as it can be in captivity.... That's for all the animals!
