Is the bottom of the shell flat or bowed out also if the bottom is bowed out then that's not normal and you may want to talk to your vet

Did she just come out of a long soak? Sometimes my DTs look puffy to me after soaking.

No I notices before his soak actually but waited all day to see if it would sort of go away and it didn't so i took the pics this evening.

Well the bottom seem flat and is still soft as he is just about 2 months old. Ill be sure to check that closely today though.

Here are a few other pics from this morning. His bottom looks pretty flat not rounded or puffy.

Maybe it's just that his legs seem so short still compared to his shell size :) he just reminds me of a help I can't get up look as his legs just hang there...

Just curious, did you named your tort after Klaus Nomie?

Looks normal no me. Russians tend to have round plastron vs. others who have flat plastrons.

Thanks! I think it just worried me as he seemed to grow so fast all of a sudden :). He is alert, happy and eating so I think he is good.

Have you been keeping a weight chart on your Russian?

Yes I weigh every Monday but only log their weights and lengths every 1st of the month. He is growing but I don't think overly so. He has continued to be very happy and alert - maybe it was a growth spirt while I was gone and it seemed a bit more then I'd expected.
